Certified Nursing Assistants

Certified Nursing Assistants are supervised by doctors or registered nurses and provide basic patient care like checking vital signs, bathing, and feeding patients. A CNA can perform all of those duties as well as additional tasks, such as using EKG machines and drawing blood.

Imaging and Radiology

Imaging and Radiology technologists and technicians are responsible for gathering images through X-rays, ultrasounds and other equipment. These images are then used by doctors and other health care professionals to diagnose or more closely examine medical issues, concerns or conditions.

Nurses

LVNs and LPNs care for ill, injured, or convalescing patients or persons with disabilities in hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, private homes, group homes, and similar institutions. May work under the supervision of a registered nurse. Licensing required. Registered Nurses have graduated from an accredited nursing program and often work directly with physicians and doctors. RNs are there to educate patients about disease prevention, are licensed to be able to administer medication, and are tasked with a wide range or duties.

Medical Assistants (Certified)

An allied health professional who supports the work of physicians and other health professionals, usually in a clinic setting. MAs may document medical histories, record vital signs of patients, complete administrative and clinical tasks. Medical assistants become certified through an accredited program.

Respiratory

A respiratory therapist helps the patient achieve maximum lung function. As part of the care team, the respiratory therapist: maintains or restores the patient’s lung function and helps prevent complications such as pneumonia, and monitors how well the patient’s lungs are working.
