Our Commitment to Equity
At the Education Fund, our mission is to empower our diverse healthcare workforce to advance in a changing environment through innovative education and training solutions. Our work is grounded in our values of equality and social justice. The recent tragic murders of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and Rayshard Brooks, the senseless police killings of Black people in the U.S., and the outpouring of protest that followed have brought a new reckoning of the historic unjust and systemic racism towards Black communities.
We join protesters in demanding an end to systemic injustices and grieve with the Black community. Also, we are living through a pandemic that has shown how inequalities in healthcare and jobs disparately impact Black people.
We will continue to address these problems through our work with a commitment to anti-racism. In partnership with our employer and union sponsors, we expand economic opportunities to underrepresented workers in healthcare. We strive to address systemic inequalities in education and jobs, as well as occupational segregation, to increase the resilience, diversity and inclusion of healthcare workers. Further, our employer and union sponsors have launched a number of important initiatives which we will participate in and amplify.
