Medical Terminology
Build a strong foundation in the language of healthcare with Medical Terminology, an online college prep course offered through the Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health Sciences (KPSAHS).
Open to all eligible Education Fund members regardless of employer, this course is designed to help you understand the medical terms and vocabulary commonly used in healthcare settings.
In this course, you will learn:
- Medical prefixes, suffixes, and word roots
- How medical terms are structured and interpreted
- Healthcare vocabulary related to patient care and treatment
- Common terminology used in healthcare documentation
- Foundational language skills that support healthcare education and career pathways
The course is online and can be completed at your own pace during a 6-week session. Course materials are available 24/7, allowing you to learn when it is most convenient for your schedule. This is a non-credit course. Certificates of completion are available upon successful course completion.
Registration for the 2026 Fall session is now open through October 11.
Classes begin October 19.
How to register: Log in to the MyEdFund portal and select Available Programs > Preparation and Critical Skills > Medical Terminology, Math, and Science > Answer the required questions and be redirected to the KPSAHS registration form to complete their application.
