Meet with an Education Fund Career Counselor to determine eligibility for the program and get access to the online application.

You may apply after you have completed your Meet You Counselor (MYC) appointment. The application is available in the MyEdFund(opens in a new tab) portal, under the Available Programs tab, and will remain open for thirty (30) days from the date of your MYC appointment or until the application deadline, whichever is sooner.

Please note: Late applications will not be accepted, no exceptions.

Applications take approximately ten (10) business days for processing once submitted. Your application will be reviewed and if accepted, you will receive an email with next steps.

Yes. You must reapply every semester or quarter and submit all required documents for that term by the application deadline.

Pre-requisite and general education courses taken at a community college are the only approved course types for the College Courses program.

The following are covered by the College Courses program:

• Tuition
• Required school fees. Examples include health fees, registration fees, technology fees, Student Tuition Recovery fees, student union fees, and activity fees.
• Required textbooks up to $350 per course for general education (GE) and prerequisite courses.

There are two options available for learners:

Approved Community Colleges:
This option offers upfront payment for tuition, required fees, and required textbook costs for general education (GE) and prerequisite courses.

Tuition Reimbursement (TR):
This option, available only with Career Counselor approval, provides reimbursement for tuition, required fees, and required textbook costs for general education (GE) and prerequisite courses at local community colleges. If approved, Learners must pay upfront and submit required documents for reimbursement after their schools add/drop deadline.

Learners can take up to two (2) courses per term, with a maximum of six (6) courses per calendar year.

Yes! Your books will be covered up to $350 per course.

Approved Community Colleges: Your books are covered up front. You will receive instructions on how to collect your books when you register with the school.

Tuition Reimbursement: You will pay for your books and be reimbursed.

You must first receive approval from your Career Counselor before using the Tuition Reimbursement option. Once approved, you will pay tuition, required fees, and textbook costs upfront. After your school’s add/drop deadline has passed, you will need to submit the required documentation (such as receipts and proof of enrollment) to request reimbursement.

Your final grades must be uploaded to your MyEdFund(opens in a new tab) learner portal under the My Documents section (found under the My Profile tab) within thirty (30) days of your course end date. Please note for learners attending approved community colleges, you do not need to submit grades, unless indicated otherwise.

Proof of drop must be uploaded to your MyEdFund(opens in a new tab) portal, and you must notify your assigned Career Counselor. If you withdraw from two courses consecutively, you will be sanctioned for up to six (6) months.

The Sanction Policy is intended to hold learners accountable for their outcomes and to encourage them to follow our guidelines when participating in Education Fund programs.

The sanction period lasts for six months. During this time, the learner has no access to Education Fund programs except for Career Counseling and coaching support, and specific Preparation/Critical Skills classes. A learner is subject to sanctions for one or all of the following reasons:

• Earns two consecutive W’s and/or Incompletes
• Fails to complete a course/program with a C- or higher
• Drops the course/program after the allowed drop date
• Fails to earn full school credit
• Fails to timely provide proof of completion
• Fails to provide required documentation (such as income verification and employment documentation) for Tuition Reimbursement
• Fail to return electronic equipment, such as laptops, Chromebooks, or hotspots
• Fail or academically dismissed (due to dishonesty) from an academic program
• Failure to check in with your assigned Career Counselor, for three consecutive months

Learners who are sanctioned will not be supported in any Education Fund program until the sanction is lifted. Learners can appeal the sanction via the Sanction Appeal Request Form with support from your Career Counselor.

You are required to check in with your Career Counselor monthly. Your counselor will send you an email to complete your required monthly check-in. Access to your check-in is in your MyEdFund(opens in a new tab) portal.

You can still apply to the College Courses program if the class is full and you are placed on the waitlist. If you are later accepted into the course, you must notify your Career Counselor right away and provide updated documentation. If you do not get accepted, you are responsible for withdrawing your application so that our records remain accurate.

Yes. Tutor.com is available for most subjects. Learners who are enrolled in the program should contact their Career Counselor to request account access.
