IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal

The Education Fund is now offering an IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal certification through a partnership with Astute Nurses. The in-person course combines classroom instruction with hands-on clinical training, covering topics such as venipuncture, intravenous therapy, medication administration, flow rate calculations, and patient safety.

Program Details

  • The IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal offering is a 3-day course that learners must complete in full and take their examination to earn the certification.
  • These in-person classes are offered year-round in Northern California (Milpitas and Vallejo).

How to Apply

  • Log in to the MyEdFund portal.
  • Select “Available programs”, then select “Continuing Education”, then select “CEUs”, then select “IV Therapy & Blood Withdrawal”.
  • You will be asked to finish your application on Astute Nurses website.
  • Review their class offerings in Milpitas and Vallejo. Identify which location and class date works for you.
  • Scroll to the bottom of their website, click on the blue button that says “Inquire and Save Your Spot”.
  • Fill out your name, email, and phone number. In the body of the message, say what location and date you would like to take your IV Therapy & Blood Withdrawal Course. Please include that you are an Ed Fund learner, your facility, and your employee ID number.
  • Once complete, click “Send”.
  • Astute Nurses will contact you within three business days to confirm your spot.
  • If you need to cancel or reschedule your class, please notify Astute Nurses as soon as possible. You must provide at least 72 hours’ notice, or the Education Fund will be responsible for the cost of the course.
