Pandemic Readiness Course
The Education Fund, in partnership with Futuro Health and SEIU-UHW, is offering a Pandemic Readiness training, available at no cost to you:
This five module pandemic readiness course, designed by Pima Medical Institute and conducted entirely online, will take six hours to complete. (Read the press release.) Designed to be self-paced and available online, the course can help prepare healthcare workers to perform additional functions on the care team in preparation for a temporary expansion in their scope of work. The course includes videos, readings, and skill check activities on the following topics:
- Screening and Testing
- Infection Control, Isolation Precautions and PPE
- Ventilator Management
- Stress Management and Resilience
- Immunity and Vaccines
The Education Fund, in partnership with Portland Community College, is offering an online self-paced telehealth basics training, available at no cost to you! This course is available to all healthcare workers.
Telehealth Basics will teach important skills and knowledge on the following topics: the benefit Telehealth has on patient outcomes, maintaining screen awareness with a professional presence, best practices for cultural sensitivity, and more!
Four main modules to this course:
- Introduction to Telehealth
- Foundations of Telehealth
- Skills needed for success
- Patient engagement
*Please note that Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are not available for this course (with the exception of Medical Assistants).
Classes for New Online Learners
The Introduction to Online Learning course is a self-paced, non-credit online resource to support any learner planning to move into a virtual learning environment. This course guides learners through four modules on various lesson topics, including:
- Advantages and challenges of online learning
- Using technology
- Developing effective study habits
Learners who complete this course will receive a digital badge from Credly.
Developing Basic Computer Skills: Navigating the Technological World course covers essential computer skills for anyone struggling with technology in the workplace or anyone who wants to learn the fundamentals of using a computer. Participants will learn:
- How to operate and use basic functions of a Windows computer or Chromebook laptop
- How to navigate the internet using the Chrome browser
- How to use an email account using Gmail
- How basic computer skills can increase employees’ marketability with employers
Kickstart to Microsoft Suite offers monthly, 1 hour clinics cover the basics of Microsoft Suite, including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint.

Critical Skills Webinar Series
The 2021 Critical Skills Webinar Series, in partnership with Learnit, will offer six (6) one-hour trainings on key topics that help learners develop relevant and timely critical skills for working in today’s healthcare setting. Participants will join a live virtual classroom session with Learnit’s expert instructors and will walk away with tangible tools that can be applied in their professional and personal lives.

Webinar – Healthcare Worker Fatigue: Too Tired to Care?
Can “a little” fatigue impair your thinking? Is working at night the same as working during the day as long as hours are consistent? Join this webinar to learn about the statistics and research concerning healthcare worker fatigue and safety in order to support and equip healthcare worker with the self-care tools needed to sustained focus and alertness.
- Describe the possible adverse effects of working while fatigued

CE Direct & Focused CEs Series
CE Direct offers online CEUs for those members working in the following classifications: Nursing, Medical Assistants, Surgical Tech, Imaging and Radiologic Therapy, Social Workers, Respiratory, Dietitians, Pharmacy, Health Educators, and other allied health professions.
The Focused CE Series is for Registered Nurses and combines weekly live webinars led by nationally recognized experts, self-study readings, and an online forum to connect with your instructors and classmates. At the end of the series, you will earn an overall certificate of completion in addition to 12-to-50 CE contact hours.
For both CE Direct and the Focused CE Series, register by following the instructions below.

CE Reimbursement Program
For all classifications: Get up to $1,000 for CEs!
Through the Education Fund’s CE Reimbursement Program, learners can take any CE from a reputable vendor, including in-person or online CE training options (online live simulcasts, webinars, etc.), and be reimbursed up to $1,000 annually. The online application must be completely filled out and submitted electronically within 90 days of the last day of the training (online or in-person).
AHIMA & AAPC
AHIMA & AAPC provide Medical Coders with information on privacy and security, coding, electronic health records, clinical documentation, health informatics, data analysis, reimbursement, compliance and other critical topics.
They also offer resources and surveys for pre-work webinars for the CCS and CCS-P Exam, Outpatient CDI and CHDA Exam.
